Volunteer Possibilities
BAOBAB acknowledges, appreciates
and accepts volunteer services as
part of our capacity building
programme. Individuals who share
BAOBAB’s vision are welcome to
volunteer their time and skills
Internship Programme
This
programme is intended to allow us to
have people visit from different
places for three months to learn
from a different environment while
teaching from their own environment
– both about specific skills and
about the contexts in which we work.
The programme offers accommodation
and a stipend to cover basic living
necessities – for those within our
volunteer outreach teams.
Opportunities exist for
international and national interns
at their own expense for a minimum
of 4 weeks.

Friends of BAOBAB for Women’s
Human Rights
Every day women in Nigeria
suffer human rights violations in
the name of culture, tradition or
religion. BAOBAB for Women’s Human
Rights is working for equality and
justice for women with the aim that
women’s human rights become an
integral part of everyday life.
Many people have expressed their
desire to get involved in the fight
for women’s human rights in
Nigeria. BAOBAB is establishing a
“Friends of BAOBAB for Women’s Human
Rights” programme to build stronger
links within our communities and
enable concerned individuals to
support our activities through
donations.
There are four levels of monthly
donations you can make. Your
donation would be used to support
BAOBAB and its
programmes including:
· Providing legal mediation and
representation to defend women in
cases of domestic violence,
inheritance, child custody, etc.
· Legal defense to protect the
lives and rights of women living
under the three systems of law
(customary, statutory and religious
laws including sharia)
· Training workshops such as
Women’s Leadership Training, which
empowers women to reach their full
potential and get involved in the
betterment of their communities.
· Research and documentation of
women’s human rights violations
· Advocacy work and
awareness-raising campaigns

choose to become a Friend of BAOBAB,
we are requesting a one-year
commitment, allowing us to plan our
programmes accordingly. Your
donation would go a long way in
supporting women in Nigeria.
